It would seem that broadening our horizons to incorporate European action into our both teams to score betting tips has paid dividends, with four out of five landing last week including 5/6 and 10/11 shots. It was a very handy turn indeed.
So we go in again this week with confidence, and have cast our net far and wide to find the very best selections.
So here are this week’s BTTS betting tips:
- Watford vs Tottenham: Both Teams to Score – Yes
- Brentford vs Fulham: Both Teams to Score – Yes
- Stevenage vs Swindon Town: Both Teams to Score – Yes
- Athletic Bilbao vs Real Madrid: Both Teams to Score – Yes
- Wolfsburg vs Borussia Monchengladbach: Both Teams to Score – Yes
Watford vs Tottenham – Yes (7/10)
The implication of Toby Alderweireld’s injury is clear for all to see: Tottenham are an easy team to breach without the Belgian in their midst.
Spurs have shipped five in their last three Premier League outings – unheard of for them, and the simplicity with which their opponents are getting in behind will worry Mauricio Pochettino.
Watford have scored eleven goals in their last half-dozen league outings, and with Troy Deeney back from suspension Marco Silva has attacking options a-plenty.
The fact they have shipped twelve goals in their last six will concern the Hornets boss, however.
Brentford vs Fulham – Yes (4/7)
These two London sides meet at Griffin Park on Saturday, and a repeat of Monday’s capital city 2-2 draw between the Bees and QPR looks likely.
Brentford continue to impress from an attacking standpoint, and yet they have thrown away more points from winning positions than any other Championship side this term. That suggests that defensively there are questions to be asked.
Nobody is quite sure what has happened to Fulham of late, but in their last two games they have been hugely impressive and back to their attacking best.
The Cottagers’ shot data has been excellent, and while that resulted in five goals scored against high-flying Sheffield United in their penultimate outing they were equally as impressive in the win over Millwall too; they may only have triumphed 1-0, but it was a rather comprehensive victory nonetheless.
Stevenage vs Swindon Town – Yes (7/10)
This is an FA Cup second round tie where the stakes couldn’t be higher: a potential meeting with a Manchester United/City, a Liverpool or an Arsenal is just 90 minutes away.
That is a psychology that naturally lends itself to goals as both teams throw the kitchen sink at each other, and into the bargain if this was a standard League Two outing we’d be backing BTTS anyway.
Both teams to score was a bet that landed in each of Stevenage’s first five home games. Then there was a lull with the 2-0 win over Port Vale, but once again they are now back in the game with their last four outings on home soil serving up BTTS.
Swindon are no strangers to success on the road, and indeed their away record of W7 D0 L3 is the best in League Two. They have netted in 9/10 and conceded in 6/10.
Athletic Bilbao vs Real Madrid – Yes (7/10)
Despite their overall excellence, there is a definite vulnerability to Real Madrid from a defensive perspective this season.
They have conceded in four of their last five away assignments in La Liga, and in total they have shipped more than double the number of goals of Barcelona.
It’s not been the best of seasons for Athletic Bilbao thus far, but they have shown they are still capable from an attacking sense. They’ve netted against four of the top six sides so far this term, and will be looking to add a fifth on Sunday.
Wolfsburg vs Borussia Monchengladbach – Yes (4/7)
Borussia Monchengladbach upset the odds to beat Bayern Munich 2-1 last time out, and that was the continuation of some fine attacking form.
They have scored two or more goals in five of their last seven matches – the bad news is that they have conceded in six of those, meaning that BTTS has hit the spot in each of their last five and seven of their last eight.
Wolfsburg are rather less goal-happy but look at this stat: BTTS has delivered in all of their last nine Bundesliga outings!
