Both Teams to Score Tips: 25th November 2017

After another average week of 3/5 picks landing, we’ve opted for a brave new world this week with our Both Teams to Score betting tips.

We are avid followers of European football’s top leagues, but rarely dip our toes into the water as far as the BTTS market is concerned.

Well, no longer. We’re going to adopt a more continental approach to our selections in the coming weeks, in the hope that a wider geographical base will uncover more consistent 4/5 and even 5/5 returns on a weekly basis.

So let’s get stuck straight in to this week’s BTTS tips:

  • West Ham vs Leicester: Both Teams to Score – Yes
  • Burton Albion vs Sunderland: Both Teams to Score – No
  • Eintracht Frankfurt vs Bayer Leverkusen: Both Teams to Score – Yes
  • Borussia Dortmund vs Schalke: Both Teams to Score – Yes
  • Deportivo vs Athletic Bilbao: Both Teams to Score – Yes

West Ham vs Leicester – Yes (7/10)

It will take a while for David Moyes’ pragmatic approach to sink into his new staff at West Ham, and with eleven goals conceded in their last four games the Hammers show no sign of battening down the hatches.

Claude Puel, meanwhile, has brought with him an attacking directive to Leicester City, and while that will please their supporters the Foxes do look vulnerable through the middle, where Wes Morgan’s lack of pace is becoming a real problem. Harry Maguire, as hugely talented as he is, is far from the finished article as well.

Friday night fixtures bring an air of excitement with them, and this one may just manifest itself in goals.

Burton Albion vs Sunderland – No (5/6)

If Chris Coleman didn’t know the size of the task facing him at Sunderland he does know after witnessing first hand his new employer’s 2-2 draw with Millwall and 1-2 defeat at Aston Villa.

‘We must defend better’ will presumably be his first thought, and organisation was one of his strong points when guiding Wales to the semi-finals of Euro 2016. To some extent, he would see a 0-0 draw at Burton as a positive result.

The Brewers are trying to express themselves more – BTTS has landed in four of their last five – but actually they might be better served going back down the conservative route. They’ve lost six of their last nine goal-laden affairs, and yet when they kept things tight in that run they won 1-0 at Millwall.

Nigel Clough may have to displease his fans and revert back to a ‘safety first’ strategy.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Bayer Leverkusen – Yes (4/7)

Combined, the last 12 matches this pair have played have yielded BTTS, and there seems no reason to deviate from that formula here.

Indeed, eight of Frankfurt’s last nine have delivered, with a half-dozen of those also going over the 2.5 goal line including their last four on home soil.

Leverkusen are the BTTS kings of the Bundesliga, with 9/12 delivering on that front as well as 10/12 going over the 2.5 goal mark. They will also be without defenders Wendell and Benjamin Henrichs here, who are both suspended.

Borussia Dortmund vs Schalke – Yes (4/7)

It has been a less than stellar campaign as far as Borussia Dortmund are concerned, with four defeats in their last five in the Bundesliga and an early exit from the Champions League.

They’re having to make do with a crippling injury list as well, with keeper Roman Burki, defenders Erik Durm, Lukasz Piszczek, Sokratis and defensive midfielder Sebastian Rode all absent. It’s no wonder that BTTS has landed in each of their last eight!

Schalke are currently second in the Bundesliga table, and the Expected Goals data suggests they are completely worthy of their lofty position. They will fancy the job against the Yellow-and-Blacks, who remain a brilliant attacking force.

Deportivo vs Athletic Bilbao – Yes (10/11)

What fantastic odds are available here for a fixture that appears to have untold BTTS potential.

Deportivo will be without suspended defence-minded players in Luisinho and Guilherme, while defenders Sidnei and Juanfran are also struggling with injury.

The hosts have netted in 9/12 this term, conceding in 10/12 with the 2.5 goal mark breached on some 9/12 occasions!

Athletic Bilbao have been hampered by the injury to Iker Muniain, no doubt, but they still have players like Aduriz and Inaki Williams with an eye for goal. Most concerning will be the fact that they have shipped in eight of their last nine.
