If Stoke had of just managed to find the net against Chelsea on Saturday we would have been celebrating a clean sweep of five winners from five, but as it is we walked away with four winning selections including the handsomely priced 10/11 Rotherham vs Oldham tip that landed.
The system we use to select picks is based upon a sort of Expected Goals/chance creation hybrid, and while it is by no means an exact science it has been working rather well of late, and should continue to do so as the 2017/18 data set grows.

QPR vs Fulham – Yes (4/7)
QPR are in something of a mini injury crisis at the back with James Perch, Grant Hall and Nedum Onouha all out with respective ailments. The Hoops have shipped in five of their last six, but have impressed in an attacking sense by winning the shot count handsomely in four of their last five.
Fulham were the BTTS golden boys last season, and while they had got off to a slow start in 2017/18 they have just started to crank through the gears with both teams netting in each of their last five.
Aston Villa vs Bolton – No (8/11)
We firmly expect Aston Villa to hold up their end of the bargain by finding the net – they’ve bludgeoned nine in their last three outings, but the ‘No’ selection comes courtesy of Bolton’s abject run in front of goal.
The Trotters have failed to score in each of their last six outings and seven of their last eight, not aided by their failure to secure shot supremacy in nine of their ten Championship games.
It has been a tough reintroduction to life in the second tier for Phil Parkinson’s outfit, and up against a Villa defence that has kept four clean sheets in their last five that awkward record looks likely to be extended.
Middlesbrough vs Brentford – Yes (8/11)
Middlesbrough have yet to really take off under Garry Monk, and while on the face of it they have been secure defensively they have still yielded in each of their last three outings – Brentford will enjoy that.
The Bees have burst into life in recent weeks, delivering Expected Goals numbers that Manchester City would be proud of. At the moment, BTTS looks an outstanding proposition when they are in town.
Peterborough vs Oxford – Yes (4/7)
Goals, goals, goals: they’ve followed Peterborough around for a good few years now, and 2017/18 is proving to be no exception.
The Posh have scored more times than any other League 1 side, and yet they have shipped more than any other in the top six too. BTTS has landed in four of their last five, and there really is no need to deviate away from a winning formula.
Oxford offer typically strong expected goals values on the road, with an accumulative score of 5.90 from five starts in terms of xG for. Despite a blank at Bury they had netted in each of their prior five matches.
Swindon vs Cambridge – Yes (8/11)
Both of Swindon’s home matches and Cambridge’s away days tend to deliver outstanding Expected Goals accounts, and so to see BTTS available at such an agreeable price is heart-warming.
Swindon’s home outings have ended 1-1, 0-3, 1-4, 3-2 and 1-2, and the data suggests that is no coincidence. Cambridge, meanwhile, have netted in 8/10 home and away this term, while shipping three at Mansfield and two at Barnet.
