£10 to £1000 Challenge: Attempt 4, Week 3 Betting Tips

Another week of success has kept our challenge dreams alive; that’s eight winning bets in a row now. Granted, we were indebted to a 93rd minute equaliser in the Las Palmas vs Eibar match, but we march on regardless!

Here’s a recap of last week’s selections and how they fared:

  • Bet 5: Simon Whitlock +2.5 Handicap against Brendan Dolan – Whitlock won 6-5 having led 4-1 at one point.
  • Bet 6: Las Palmas vs Eibar – Over 0.5 Second Half Goals – a 93rd minute penalty got this selection over the line; phew!
  • Bet 7: Nice +1.25 Asian against Caen – Nice suffered their first loss of the season, but a 0-1 scoreline meant our selection still landed.
  • Bet 8: AS Roma vs Bologna – Over 0.5 Second Half Goals – Roma romped to a 3-0 win with a pair of second half goals going in.

So we march on £34.04 in our pockets. Let’s see if we can escape the international football break unscathed.

Bet 9: San Marino vs Germany – Germany to Win to Nil – £34.04 at 1/7

Friday November 11, 19:45

Anyone with even just a passing interest in international football will surely know all about the pitfalls that have befallen San Marino, Europe’s plucky minnows. This is a side that has lost 49 of their last 50 competitive fixtures – scoring a solitary goal in just five of them.

Taking on world champions Germany….well, you know the rest. The Germans will not want to concede a goal against their opponents here – they are a proud bunch, and clearly a win is almost a formality. If this selection loses, it would be bordering on the miraculous given the data.

Bet 10: MK Dons vs Walsall – Walsall +2.25 Asian – £38.90 at 1.125

Saturday November 12, 15:00

The international break has decimated the top two divisions of English football but the lower segment of the Football League ploughs on regardless.

A fixture of note should see Walsall, unbeaten in five, come away from Milton Keynes with a positive result against the Dons, who have lost four of their last five outings in the league and who were thumped 1-4 by Norwich in the EFL Cup in midweek.

The beauty of this selection is that even if MK Dons win by two clear goals, we are still onto a winner.

Bet 11: Michael Gerwen to beat Martin Adams – £43.76 at 1/9

Saturday November 12, 19:30

Martin Adams is one of the most popular darts players on the planet, and still a handy thrower even as he approaches his pension. The news that ‘Wolfie’ was diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier in the year was greeted with much sadness, but the good news is that Adams is fit, healthy and ready to rock at the Civic Hall on Saturday.

The bad news is that he meets Michael van Gerwen, a winning machine who has no sympathy for anyone; he simply just wants to win prize money and trophies. At last week’s World Series, he lifted his third televised trophy in the past month alone. In some ways we’d love Wolfie to win, but it ain’t gonna happen.

Bet 12: Switzerland to beat the Faroe Islands – £48.62 at 1/10

Sunday November 13, 17:00

The Faroe Islands are almost as terrible as San Marino – almost, but not quite – and it would be a huge surprise if a Switzerland side that defeated European champions Portugal recently doesn’t bag the three points.

The Faroes have lost 24 of their last 25 European Championship qualifiers away from home and 21 of their last 25 World Cup qualifiers, so surely in a week of miracles (here’s looking at you, Donald) surely there won’t be another.
