- Burnley vs Sheffield United: No – One of the Premier League’s best grinders, Burnley continue to pick up points – albeit less than spectacularly, with key attacking talents like Ashley Barnes and Jay Rodriguez struggling with injury. Their opponents here, Sheffield United, play on Thursday and then again Sunday, which means Chris Wilder will have to rotate. That generally impacts upon creative flow and rhythm.
- Blackburn Rovers vs Leeds United: No – Leeds United struggled to a draw against Luton in midweek, and their attacking play has at times looked a bit predictable since the break – they are crying out for a proven goalscorer to take the slack from Patrick Bamford. Blackburn, meanwhile, have failed to score in three of their last four outings.

- Portsmouth vs Oxford United: Yes – Two of League One’s great entertainers meet in the play-off semi-final on Friday, and despite three months off the importance of the game dictates that both will want to earn the upper hand in this first leg. Pompey have scored in 80% of games this season including two each in four of their last six prior to the break, while Oxford won five on the spin and scored 14 in the process.
