- Chelsea vs Crystal Palace – The bookies really don’t fancy Crystal Palace here, but it’s very rare that they get thrashed and Chelsea’s inability to keep clean sheets (2/11 in the league so far) brings the handicap into play. The Blues could also be without injured creative talents Mason Mount and Ross Barkley plus the suspended Jorginho. Chelsea have failed to clear the 1.75 handicap in 7/11 so far, Palace would have won in such circumstances in 8/11.
- Southampton vs Everton – On paper, Southampton’s 1-2 defeat at Manchester City looks like a positive result, but in truth they could have lost by four of five goals there – to go with their 0-9 loss against Leicester. With planned fan protests rumoured, it could be another tough afternoon for the Saints. Everton played Spurs off the park last time out, and the Expected Goals data suggests they are much better than their lowly league position suggests.
- Barnsley vs Stoke City – In the last four weeks, Barnsley have drawn with three sides inside the Championship’s top six, giving a good account on each occasion, and so like a racehorse dropping down in class they have to be fancied at home against Stoke. The Potteries side have lost 0-2 to Millwall and West Brom since Nathan Jones was given his marching orders.
- Birmingham City vs Fulham – Fulham’s obvious class at Championship level isn’t exactly shining through at the moment, and in their last five games they have just one win to their name against a defensively inept Luton outfit. Here, they meet a Birmingham side on an upward trajectory. Yes, they lost at Cardiff last time out, but otherwise they have won their last three on the spin at home and are playing some enterprising football.
- QPR vs Middlesbrough – With no goals scored in 360+ minutes of football, these are not good times for Middlesbrough and under-fire boss Jonathan Woodgate. That means QPR might only need to score once to win here, and that’s fair game for a the third highest scorers in the Championship who have bagged ten in their last five outings.
