  • Everton vs Burnley – Everton will be sad to see the season end. They’ve won four of their last six, including home victories over Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal without conceding a goal. The Toffees have kept seven clean sheets in their last nine starts. Burnley are no mugs, of course, but their record against top-half sides – W2 D4 L12 – is instructive.
  • Bournemouth vs Tottenham – The rather thin nature of Tottenham’s squad was laid bare against Ajax in midweek. Without Kane, Son and latterly Vertonghen they looked very ordinary. The Korean returns here but with eyes on the Champions League second leg next week, Pochettino may make changes. Bournemouth will fancy the job in their last home game of the campaign, and the Cherries are capable: they’ve bludgeoned eight goals in their last three outings.
  • Cardiff City vs Crystal Palace – Cardiff have to win here to avoid relegation to the Championship; not ideal for a side that has lost eight of their last ten games and failed to score in six of those. With the pressure on the hosts, the game is set up perfectly for Crystal Palace to flourish on the break via Zaha and co. The Eagles’ away form reads W4 D1 L1.
  • Brentford vs Preston – A very generous price is available here for a Brentford side that is ending the campaign well. The Bees have scored nine goals in their last five games, beating Leeds and Ipswich on home soil and taking a point from Derby. Preston have lost five of their last seven, and twice through away two-goal advantages against Sheffield Wednesday last time out. Confidence is low.
  • Sheffield Wednesday vs QPR – The Owls have enjoyed a mightily impressive end to the campaign under Steve Bruce – they’ve only lost to Leeds and Aston Villa since January. The 3-3 draw with Preston last time out, where they were 0-2 and 3-1 down, will have felt like a victory. The 4-0 win over Swansea was a mirage for QPR: they’ve lost three on the spin since, and face a long old summer trying to work out where things have gone wrong.
