Burnley vs Fulham: Burnley/Draw Double Chance
There has been a couple of weeks’ worth of positivity for Burnley of late, and perhaps there is a light at the end of the tunnel for Sean Dyche’s men.
Victories on league duty against West Ham and Huddersfield were backed by a last-gasp win over Barnsley in the FA Cup; Chris Wood’s injury time penalty sending waves of euphoria around Turf Moor.
As for Fulham, the misery continues. An away formline of W0 D2 L9 helps to explain the sour mood for the Cottagers, and a poor season has been compounded by an early exit from the FA Cup, when they were humbled by Oldham on Sunday.

Peterborough United vs Rochdale: Peterborough Draw No Bet
After a bright start things have taken a turn for Peterborough in the past couple of months, but a canny bit of work in the transfer window could revitalise their campaign.
The Posh have signed Lee Tomlin from Cardiff and brought in Kyle Dempsey on loan, and both of those guys are very gifted players.
That could provide a spark, and deliver fresh impetus to their promotion chase.
Defensively Posh are suspect, but up against a Rochdale side that has failed to score in more than 270 minutes of football, perhaps that’s not too much of a concern.
And besides, the visitors’ recent run of form – 0-4, 0-5, 0-4 – doesn’t exactly instil fear.
Guingamp vs St Etienne: Guingamp/Draw Double Chance
Here’s a cracking price as the French Ligue 1 campaign resumes following the festive break.
Guingamp might prop up the division but they are capable; they showed that in defeating Thierry Henry’s Monaco 2-0 just prior to the break. They have scored in five of their last six too, so there’s no need to press the panic button.
St Etienne’s away form – W1 D4 L4 – is revealing, and while they are no mugs 23 of their 30-point tally has come on home soil. That offers plenty of reasons for the hosts to be cheerful here.
Boavista vs Maritimo: Under 2.5 Goals
A rare foray to Portugal for this column now for a match that won’t be enjoyed by the neutral.
Boavista have witnessed just eight of their players score this season – and one of those, David Simao, is suspended here, and what’s more their joint top scorers have a whopping tally of two strikes each to their names.

It would take an extraordinary twist of fortunes for the hosts not to come out on top in this one.
