Wolves vs Manchester City: Both Teams to Score (Yes)
In a match where you can almost guarantee a Manchester City goal, we are basically taking 19/20 on Wolves to score here, which seems more than fair.
The West Midlanders put two past Everton in their opening game, and at times they ripped Leicester to shreds on Saturday; hitting the woodwork an incredible three times and having another shot cleared off the line.
City are occasionally vulnerable at the back, and they will head to a loud and raucous Molineux on Saturday lunchtime where they will be met by an intense and very capable Wolves side.
Bournemouth vs Everton: Both Teams to Score (Yes)
Both of these sides have started the campaign in exciting fashion from an attacking perspective.
Bournemouth have been buoyed by actually having Callum Wilson fit – he’s an excellent frontman on his day, and backed by the talented youngster David Brooks, who joined from Sheffield United in the summer.
The Cherries have stuck two apiece past Cardiff and West Ham, ad by and large they have looked good value for their victories in both of those matches.
Both teams to score has landed in the pair of Everton outings to date, and that seems logical enough. The Toffees have the rejuvenated Richarlison in a starting eleven designed for attacking football, with full backs Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines typically spending as much time in the opponents’ half as their own.
But the defensive vulnerabilities won’t disappear overnight, and Bournemouth will fancy the job on home soil.
Norwich City vs Leeds United: Both Teams to Score (Yes)
Norwich’s games have ended 2-2, 3-4 and 1-2 so far, and the reason for that is simple: they have fired in 19 shots on target in just three outings….whilst yielding the same amount.
The Canaries have opened up under Daniel Farke so far this term, and the Expected Goals data suggests that if they stick to such principles they will do just fine this season.
Leeds will arrive in East Anglia on the crest of the wave; they’ve been completely rejuvenated by Marcelo Bielsa.
Three wins from three in the Championship, prior to the midweek game, is a fantastic start, and only Brentford have mustered more shots on target per game than the Yorkshire outfit.
They will fancy the job against a porous Norwich, that’s for sure, but don’t be too hasty to write the hosts off.
Rochdale vs Walsall: Both Teams to Score (Yes)
Prior to the midweek matches, these two sides had delivered a perfect six out of six as far as BTTS is concerned.
Again, there’s no secret as to the reason why: both of these sides create opportunities to shoot on target (25 in six games combined) and are yielding plenty at the same time (36 in six). Indeed, only Oxford have shipped more than Rochdale so far.
Walsall’s attacking play has been particularly impressive, with Morgan Ferrier a fantastic summer acquisition.
Flamengo vs Vitoria: Both Teams to Score (No)
In 19 games in the Brazilian Serie A this term, Flamengo have kept 10 clean sheets.
Drill down into those numbers a bit further, and we note that they have kept their sheet clean in 7/10 outings on home soil this term.
That’s interesting because Vitoria, who are the visitors late on Thursday (UK time), don’t score all that often.
Indeed, they have netted just five times in their last ten matches, and scored just once in 450 minutes of football on the road.
