It was a strange week for our both teams to score betting tips last time out. We had two winners at a juicy 4/5, but the other three all failed; one of which courtesy of Troy Deeney’s missed penalty as Watford took on Arsenal.
Brentford drew a rare blank at Millwall, while Stuttgart vs Leipzig, a game which appeared to have goals writ large all over it, curiously ended 0-0.
And so we rise like a phoenix with this week’s attempt….let’s get some more winners under our belt:

Barnsley vs Millwall – Yes (5/6)
Barnsley are starting to improve under Jose Morais, and while a formline of W1 D2 L2 only hints at that it should be noted that four of those matches have been played away from home.
Back at Oakwell and they will be confident that their new-found attacking freedom – they have netted in each of their last seven – can yield dividends.
Millwall’s league form needs no introduction: unbeaten in eleven, they have scored in ten of those. We write a lot about confidence being the key commodity in BTTS betting, especially for the away team, and so the Lions look ready to roar once more in Yorkshire.
Brentford vs Middlesbrough – Yes (4/5)
It’s starting to get to the point of no return for Brentford, who will know hat with just nine gameweeks adrift and sitting eight points shy of the play-off places, they need to start winning games – particularly at home – if they are to get into the mix.
That will bring out their natural attacking style, particularly as their opponents here are one of the sides in the top six places.
It’s quite possible that the real Tony Pulis has been abducted by aliens and replaced with an imposter. How else can we explain why the normally conservative-minded manager has overseen a Middlesbrough side that has scored an incredible three or more goals in four of their last five outings!
Patrick Bamford is on fire at the moment, and he and his Boro teammates will be looking to keep their promotion track on track here.
Oldham vs Portsmouth – Yes (3/4)
Oldham have found their knack in front of goal again, netting two or more goals in four of their last five outings, and with the Latics still in a touch of relegation bother there will be o let-up in their come forward style.
Portsmouth have lost four of their last five but they are travelling well, beating the similarly relegation-threatened MK Dons and Fleetwood on the road of late.
BTTS has landed in six of Pompey’s last seven, with Oldham obliging in four of six.
Newport County vs Luton Town – Yes (4/5)
Luton remain firmly in contention for the League 2 title, and that is testament to their home form given that on the road (W7 D8 L3) they have struggled for consistency.
Whether they are struggling with ‘finishing line-itis’ or not remains to be seen, but the Hatters have kept just three clean sheets in twelve games in 2018, and that is not the form of champions. Naturally, BTTS has followed in 8/12.
Newport are an interesting side. They have lost just 2/16 on home soil and yet remain mired in mid-table, but a little unbeaten run of four has given them an outside hope of a top seven finish.
They’ve netted five goals in their last two games, and despite drawing 0-0 with Port Vale prior to that they were unlucky to come away from the West Midlands with nothing after throwing the kitchen sink at the Valiants.
It could be another tough afternoon for Luton on the road here.
Marseille vs Lyon – Yes (8/13)
Here are two sides duking it out for the third and final Champions League in Ligue 1, and neither are known for being backward in coming forward.
Both are scoring at a rate greater than two goals per game in Ligue 1 (59 in 29), with Marseille scoring at least once in 27 of their 29 outings.
Lyon are no slouches either, and while their form is bubbling around of late they have still been able to score at least once in fifteen of their last sixteen.
