  • Watford vs Leicester City – One of the sides most reticent about coming back after the shutdown was Watford. Aside from the health concerns, they are deep in the relegation mire and have a number of players out injured at the moment. Leicester will sense an opportunity, and with the Hornets’ home advantage wiped out by the absence of a crowd the Foxes are very much fair game here.
  • Brighton vs Arsenal – It seems inevitable that there will be a tangible advantage here for Arsenal, who have 90 minutes under their belt albeit in defeat to Manchester City. Brighton are coming in cold, and the Gunners – without the hapless duo of David Luiz and Granit Xhaka – will be in a much stronger position.
  • Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace – Whether the bookmakers have lost their minds over the enforced break remains to be seen, but they have certainly lost their memories. Palace went into the hiatus with three straight wins, and they are now 12 points clear of Bournemouth in the table. Without traditional home advantage, the Cherries’ position as favourites here is bizarre.
  • Hull City vs Charlton – Disaster for Hull, whose out-of-contract legion – including Eric Lichaj, Jackson Irvine, Marcus Maddison and Stephen Kingsley – have all confirmed to the Tigers that they won’t play for the club again. Advantage Charlton then, who are a curiously long price with the bookies. Built in the mould of their manager Lee Bowyer, the Addicks are very difficult to beat.
  • West Brom vs Birmingham City – You wonder how the announcement that Pep Clotet will walk away from Birmingham City at the end of the season will affect the Blues, but any negativity will be gobbled up by their West Midlands rivals here. The Baggies are ruthless, and nobody in the Championship thus far has scored more goals than them.
