- Brighton vs Norwich City – It doesn’t take much persuading to bet against a side that has conceded 14 goals in their last six outings, and right now Norwich are there for the taking. Brighton, who have beaten Tottenham and Everton and drawn with Burnley in their last three home games, are a strong enough outfit to deliver. Normally we’d want a shade more than 8/11, but knowing that Norwich still have eight first-teamers out injured tips the balance in the Seagulls’ favour.
- Man City vs Southampton – It will be foolish to climb in blindly against a side that has just been beaten 0-9, but Southampton can’t say that thumping at the hands of Leicester wasn’t coming having been defeated 1-3 by Bournemouth and 1-4 by Chelsea recently. Manchester City have scored three or more goals in 7/10 Premier League outings thus far, and in two of their ‘failures’ they netted twice, so goals are not in short supply for the champions.
- Sheffield United vs Burnley – Burnley won the Expected Goals count 2.23-0.99 against Chelsea last time out; the second game in a row they have out-created their opponents but gone on to lose. There’s no need to fear Sheffield United though, a side that have scored just four goals in their last six games. Back the Clarets to make their chance creation count at Bramall Lane.
- Watford vs Chelsea – There has been a battening of hatches at Watford since the 0-8 hammering at the hands of Manchester City, and they have kept two clean sheets in three since. But those came against Sheffield United and Bournemouth, and Chelsea – one of the most efficient attacking units in the division – won’t let them off as lightly. The Hornets have mustered just five goals this term themselves, so it’s not as if they can outscore the Blues either.
- Blackburn Rovers vs Sheffield Wednesday – There’s nothing appealing about Blackburn at the moment, whose formline of W0 D2 L4 tells its own story. Without key figures, the Lancashire outfit can be opposed. Sheffield Wednesday are going well under Garry Monk, and they’ve lost just one of their last eight games.
