- Brighton vs Everton – Like the Aussie soap opera it’s a case of home and away for Brighton. Dismal on the road, they have lost just once on home soil, beating Tottenham and taking points from Burnley and West Ham. That’s useful form against an Everton side who are statistically the 19th worst away team in the Premier League, and who make the trip to the south coast without the suspended Coleman and the injured Mina, Schneiderlin and Delph.
- West Ham vs Sheffield United – There isn’t anything particularly interesting about this West Ham side that gets the juices flowing, and the fact that they have conceded six goals in their last three outings against mid-table opposition gets us thinking here. While the bookies continue to underrate Sheffield United, who have lost just 3/9 so far, we can continue to profit.
- Sheffield Wednesday vs Leeds United – It’s third vs second in the Championship here, with just one point separating the pair. So quite why Sheffield Wednesday are priced at 5/2 is anybody’s guess! The Owls have been excellent under Garry Monk, avoiding defeat in five of their last six. Leeds needed a late Eddie Nketiah equaliser to rescue a point at Preston in midweek, and the Yorkshire outfit have failed to score more than one goal in each of their last six outings. Their air of invincibility is well and truly gone.
- Huddersfield Town vs Barnsley – When you’re wholly devoid of confidence, the last thing you need is a local derby. But that’s where Barnsley, with one win all season, find themselves. They went into a fortuitous 2-0 lead at West Brom on Tuesday, but their crippling lack of leadership was evident as the game ended 2-2. Huddersfield, improving under the Cowley brothers, have won two of their last three.
- Middlesbrough vs Fulham – Rewind a month and there’s no way Fulham would be an odds-against price here. And their form isn’t that shabby: two wins were followed by a draw with Charlton that they dominated, even if they were outplayed by Stoke last time out. Middlesbrough are abject, unfortunately for them, and four defeats in five tells its own story.
