  • Bournemouth vs Norwich City – Norwich went into the international break with a horrendous injury list that has shorn them of 13 players, which led to demoralising defeats against Burnley (0-2), Crystal Palace (0-2) and Aston Villa (1-5). Key figures, such as Teemu Pukki, have been active in the internationals too, and the treatment table is not clearing. Bournemouth are in reasonable form (W2 D1 L1, eight goals scored), and they don’t have many internationals, so this is a good time to back them.
  • Manchester United vs Liverpool – It could be a case of two goalkeepers at Old Trafford, with David de Gea set to miss out after picking up an injury for Spain and Alisson likely to return for Liverpool. United could also be without Pogba and Lingard, while the Reds welcome back Matip and Shaqiri, with Salah also set to start after hobbling off against Leicester.
  • Middlesbrough vs West Brom – All of the performance data suggests the Boro are fully deserving of their lowly 20th position in the Championship, and the last thing Jonathan Woodgate wants is an engagement with West Brom, who are scoring just shy of two goals per game this term. The Baggies’ firepower (W4 D1 L1) will surely prove too hot to handle for the hosts, who are without a win in four.
  • Reading vs Preston – Here we have 22nd in the Championship against third, with the former having lost five of their last six and the latter the top goalscorers in the division. Quite why Preston find themselves priced as long as 29/20 is anybody’s guess, but we can take full advantage of the bookies’ generosity.
  • Bolton Wanderers vs Rochdale – There have been genuine improvements in Bolton of late following their hideous start to the season, and three draws in their last four has given their supporters hope of miraculous survival in League One. The Trotters were the better side last time out against Blackpool too. As for Rochdale, would you want to be backing a side that has conceded 16 goals in their last six games?
