  • Manchester City vs Aston Villa: Yes – The defensive crisis at Manchester City has worsened with the news that Rodri will be out for a month after getting injured in the midweek win over Atalanta. That leaves just midfielder Fernandinho and – to Pep’s horror – Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones as his only real options at centre back. Aston Villa, who have scored at least two goals in each of their last four games, will not park the bus here; that’s not Dean Smith’s style. Expect the Villains to give it a real good go in Manchester.
  • Burnley vs Chelsea: Yes – From the first minutes of Chelsea’s opening day defeat to Manchester United, it was clear that Frank Lampard was going to deploy attacking tactics with the Blues this term. Indeed, that was the last time they failed to score in the league, although defending is also a problem – BTTS has landed in six of their nine thus far. Burnley will be cute here and look to bully Chelsea’s young side, and don’t forget too that the Clarets have only failed to score in one outing this term.
  • Millwall vs Stoke City: Yes – One of the main accusations thrown at former Millwall boss Neil Harris is that he was too defensive. Well, the Lions have kicked on since he left the hotseat – 2-1, 2-3 and 2-2 scorelines have followed. Stoke, improving nicely, will meet them head on here.
  • Preston North End vs Blackburn Rovers: Yes – If we combine the 26 Championship matches that these sides have played thus far, we note that 15 have delivered BTTS. Factor in the end-to-end style that typically makes local derbies what they are, and the knowledge that Blackburn have scored two or more in three of their last four away dates, and we have reasons to be cheerful.
  • West Brom vs Charlton Athletic: Yes – Scoring at a rate of nearly two goals per game, but having shipped 15 in 13, it’s no wonder that West Brom are considered the BTTS kings of the Championship – that has landed in 10/13 thus far. Charlton, meanwhile, have only failed to score twice this term, and they will be looking to emulate Barnsley’s 2-0 lead at the Hawthorns on Tuesday.
