  • Manchester City vs Watford: Yes – How will Manchester City cope without Laporte and Stones? They could field Fernandinho at centre back, call up a youngster or switch to three at the back – none of those scenarios is ideal. Watford looked reborn under old/new boss Quique Sanchez Flores in their 2-2 draw with Arsenal. They fired in 31 shots on goal – ten on target – as they blitzed the Gunners’ defence.
  • Luton Town vs Hull City: Yes – Both teams to score has landed in six of Luton’s opening seven games of the season, and that half-dozen has also yielded Over 2.5 Goals – a pattern is emerging, and it is supported by the stats. With Hull and BTTS it’s a bit more gut-feel: they are ropey defensively, and yet in attack they boast two of the Championship’s stars in Jarrod Bowen and Kamil Grosicki.
  • Wycombe Wanderers vs Portsmouth: Yes – A strong start for Wycombe has been forged on aggressive, attacking football, and there’s no reason why that will change for this clash at Adams Park. Portsmouth, albeit with games in hand, are languishing in 18th position, and while desperation is not the right word for the promotion hopefuls they will certainly be looking to make things happen here.
  • Bradford City vs Carlisle United: Yes – No team in League Two has scored more goals from open play than Carlisle (11), who also ‘boast’ the division’s second worst tally for open play goals conceded: only Morecambe have shipped more. The Expected Goals stats suggest Bradford’s defence is yielding plenty of high quality chances, and yet the Bantams have plenty of attacking stars in Vaughan, Donaldson, Devitt and co.
  • Oldham Athletic vs Morecambe: Yes – Two of the worst defences in League Two collide at Boundary Park, with this pair conceding a combined 22 in 18 from open play alone – that’s without factoring in other sources. Each of the Latics’ last three games have ended 2-2, while Morecambe have shipped two or more goals in four of their last five outings.
