- Norwich City vs Chelsea: Yes – Norwich have nothing to fear from the visit of Chelsea, not that Daniel Farke would change how his side played anyway. They have played some excellent attacking football so far, defended questionably, and so BTTS becomes a factor. Frank Lampard’s Blues have to improve, but there is creative talent and intensity in his ranks at least.
- Liverpool vs Arsenal: Yes – There has been a curious defensive vulnerability to Liverpool, who were cut to ribbons at times by both Norwich and Southampton. Those sides lack a midfield prober like Dani Ceballos and a hitman like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and so the Gunners have a live chance at Anfield. But can they keep a clean sheet against Mo Salah and co? Don’t bank on it.
- MK Dons vs Peterborough United: Yes – Study their stats and the MK Dons stand out as one of the most likely BTTS candidates in League One, creating and yielding lots of high-quality chances. Their three league games so far have witnessed nine goals, as if to confirm that point. As for Peterborough, they aren’t going to be short of goals with Marcus Maddison pulling the strings for Mo Eisa and Ivan Toney, so expect more goal-laden encounters from Posh this term.
- Leyton Orient vs Crawley Town: Yes – From an attacking perspective, both of these teams impress. The O’s have created lots of good chances this term but didn’t get the rub of the green until the midweek 3-2 win at Mansfield. Crawley, meanwhile, play a lovely expansive game of football, which has seen them score in all four of their league games thus far. Unfortunately for them, they have conceded two goals in three of those.
- Portland Timbers vs Seattle Sounders: Yes – Since signing Brian Fernandez, Portland’s attacking play has gone up several levels. They have scored 12 in their last half-dozen outings, and look so much more lively thanks to the Argentine’s probing. Seattle have conceded eleven in their last four games, scoring seven, and they should play their part in a goal-fest here.
