- West Ham vs Manchester City: Yes – Is there ever a good time to play the reigning treble winners? Perhaps not, but if Man City are to be vulnerable this term it could be early on. Remember, Vincent Kompany has gone, while Fernandinho, Aymeric Laporte and Benjamin Mendy are all struggling with injuries of various degrees of seriousness. West Ham, buoyed by the summer signings of Pablo Fornals and Sebastian Haller, can be fancied to find the net here.
- Burnley vs Southampton: Yes – There is a feeling among many that Southampton can kick on this year. They have a progressive manager in Ralph Hasenhuttl plus attacking options to burn now Che Adams and Danny Ings have signed. Burnley could be without defensive king James Tarkowski here, and yet in an attacking sense they are better than you think: they have only failed to score once at home in the Premier League in 2019, and that was against Manchester City.
- QPR vs Huddersfield Town: Yes – QPR surprised most with their performance level in the 2-1 win at Stoke, but they showed that with a proper frontman (Jordan Hugill) and a tricky winger supplying the ammunition (Ebe Eze) football ca at times be an easy game. Huddersfield, meanwhile, deserved more from their 1-2 defeat against Derby on Monday, and in Karlan Ahearne-Grant they have a contender for the Championship golden boot.
- Southend United vs Blackpool: Yes – Simon Grayson got his Blackpool reign off to the best possible start with a 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers, and in it he played an attacking 4-4-2 formation with the outstanding Sulley Kaikai and Warren Feeney on the flanks and Nathan Delfouneso and Armand Gnanduillet leading the line. It’s a system that could lend itself to BTTS this term, and Southend have enough about them at Roots Hall to oblige.
- Crawley Town vs Salford City: Yes – Despite going down 1-2 at Carlisle, Crawley created plenty of high-quality chances and that should give them plenty of reasons to be cheerful despite the loss. Salford, meanwhile, will be a match for anyone at this level, and a strike pairing of Adam Rooney and Manu Dieseruvwe has goals to spare.
