- San Jose Earthquakes vs FC Dallas – After losing their first four games of the season, the improvement in the San Jose Earthquakes has been marked – they are W4 D3 L1 since. Chris Wondolowski is back amongst the goals, while Salinas and Espinoza look deadly in wide areas. Contrast that to Dallas, who have lost five of seven on the road, and who must make do without Ziegler and Mosquera (injured) and Pomykal, Aranguiz and Cerrillo (international duty).
- USA vs Ecuador – The Under-20 World Cup continues in earnest in Poland, and there are some really useful players in this USA squad. Timothy Weah is on the books at PSG, while Chris Richards was picked up by Bayern Munich. Paxton Pomykal, meanwhile, could be a star in years to come. Ecuador qualified for the knockout phase as one of the best third-placed teams, and they could be out-matched here.
- Austria vs Slovenia – There’s no rest for the wicked, and Euro 2020 qualifying begins in earnest this week. In it Austria, a decent side on home soil, welcome a Slovenia outfit who didn’t win a game in their Nations League campaign and who finished three points adrift of Scotland in World Cup 2018 qualification.
- Lithuania vs Luxembourg – This might seem like a strange pick, but there’s been plenty of positivity in Luxembourg football in recent years, while Lithuania are regressing. The hosts were routinely trounced in World Cup qualifying and lost 6/6 in the Nations League with a goal difference of -13. Luxembourg, meanwhile, took points off France and Bulgaria in World Cup qualifying, and a solid Nations League campaign was highlighted by a 4-0 demolition of Moldova.
- Montenegro vs Kosovo – A strange price here for a solid Montenegro side, who beat Denmark and Romania in World Cup qualifying and who were solid enough in the Nations League. Kosovo are improving, but they only took one point from a strong World Cup qualification group and their Nations League opposition – Azerbaijan, Malta and the Faroe Islands – hardly offers a guide.
