- Colombia vs Chile – Colombia take a perfect record from their group stages at this year’s Copa America with a hugely impressive opening win against Argentina followed up by more workmanlike 1-0 wins over guests Qatar and Paraguay. Chile are still heavily reliant on Alexis Sanchez and although the Manchester United forward has put his poor club form behind him we still expect Colombia to be the team to progress.
- Italy Women vs Netherlands Women – Italy have been one of the surprise packages of the Women’s World Cup beating a strong Australia side and only losing to Brazil via a Marta pen. They cruised past China in the last 16 whereas Netherlands needed a late VAR penalty to get past a developing Japan side.
- Germany Women vs Sweden Women – The Germans will always be amongst the favourites when it comes to a big tournament and they have progressed to the quarters in ominous style, scoring 9 times in their four matches and yet to concede. Sweden did well to progress past a tough Canada side in the round of 16 but we expect Germany to be too strong for them.
- Cameroon vs Ghana – Current AFCON champions Cameroon won their group opener in second gear by defeating Guinea-Bissau 2-0. Ghana on the other hand stuttered to a 2-2 draw with Benin having John Boye sent off in the process. This will be a tight contest but we’ll take Clarence Seedorf’s Cameroon to win this at a decent price.
- Uruguay vs Peru – Uruguay qualified as group winners having dispatched Ecuador and Chile, drawing with Japan. Peru progressed as best of the third placed sides but were thumped 0-5 by Brazil last time out and we expect Suarez, Cavani et al to win the match in 90 minutes.
