- Vancouver Whitecaps vs Toronto FC – Alejandro Pozuelo returns from suspension just in time for the Canadian derby. He rekindles a partnership with Jozy Altidore that has plundered 10 goals in 13 games this term for Toronto. The visitors will be without Michael Bradley, but Vancouver’s injury list is far worse: Adnan, Henry, Bangoura and Reyna are all key figures for the Whitecaps.
- Colorado Rapids vs FC Cincinnati – There is an element of risk to this bet, with Colorado having to travel to and from the east coast of the USA just 72 hours prior to this game. However, the Rapids are in a better place at the moment with two consecutive wins, and Jonathan Lewis has come in to ease the goalscoring burden on Kei Kamara. Cincinnati have lost seven of their last eight, and their early season optimism is long gone.
- Houston Dynamo vs Sporting Kansas City – The last thing injury-riddled Sporting KC need is two games in the space of 72 hours; especially as this one involves an 800-mile trip to the deep south. Houston are particularly strong on home soil (W6 D2 L0), and with talisman Albert Elis set to return from concussion they are well fancied here.
- Minnesota United vs Philadelphia Union – The over-arching theme in the MLS is one of goals, and so it is easy to get blinkered when analysing matches. But neither of these two sides are prolific in terms of goals delivered: Minnesota’s six home matches have witnessed eleven goals, Philly’s half-dozen away dates have seen 13 goals. Combined, that does not bode well for a barnstormer here.
- Varbergs vs GAIS – Varbergs are setting a furious pace at the top of the Swedish Superettan. They’re unbeaten in 10 games (W8 D2 L0) and boast a goal difference of +15 already. GAIS were outclassed by second placed Mjallby last time out, and there’s not much to really promote their chances of an upset here.
