  • Derby County vs Aston Villa: Yes – The Championship play-off final could be one to savour for neutral observers, with two teams more comfortable in attack than defence doing battle. Aston Villa conceded in six of their last eight regular season games, and in both of their play-off semi-final ties. They have injury doubts over goalkeepers Jed Steer and Orjan Nyland too. Derby, meanwhile, shipped in 12/16 at the end of the regular season and three against Leeds in the play-off semis. Scott Malone is suspended, while Richard Keogh is facing a battle to be fit.
  • Fiorentina vs Genoa: No – Two of Serie A’s most tawdry attacks lock horns on the final day of the campaign. You have to go back to March to find the last time Genoa scored two goals in a game; since it’s been a series of blanks and solitary goals scored. Mind you, Fiorentina are even worse: they’ve only scored twice in a single game since February. That includes failing to find the net in five of their last six!
  • Vancouver Whitecaps vs FC Dallas: No – It’s been a case of grim survival on home soil for Vancouver, whose seven matches in front of their fans have witnessed just twelve goals – very low for the MLS. The absence of their better attacking players in Yordy Reyna and Lass Bangoura suggests they will batten down the hatches once more. FC Dallas, meanwhile, do not travel well, and they too are missing pivotal attacking figures such as Pomykal, Gruezo and Mosquera.
  • Chicago Fire vs New York City FC: Yes – For a side that kept three clan sheets in a row, Chicago’s 1-4 defeat at San Jose was something of a head-scratcher. They defended woefully, their attempts to pass out from the back dire, and they really struggled against an outfit that pressed them. They could be put through the ringer again by an NYC side that has improved markedly from an attacking standpoint since the signing of Heber. He has struck up an excellent partnership with Maxi Moralez, and his side’s form (W4 D3 L0) shows it.
  • Toronto FC vs San Jose Earthquakes: No – While it would be foolhardy to call Toronto a one-man team, they will be missing Alejandro Pozuelo for this game – as close as you will see to a talismanic figure. The Spaniard has contributed to 10 of his side’s 22 goals this term (five scored, five assists), and his suspension will harm their chances of breaking down a well-drilled San Jose outfit under Matias Almeyda.
