The less said about last week’s both teams to score betting tips the better!
There were two winners at healthy prices of 4/5 and 4/6, but otherwise it was a disappointing effort with Bournemouth’s surprise inability to score at Cardiff having just blasted Chelsea 4-0 the tip of the iceberg.
The good news is that with games coming thick and fast at the moment we can soon move on, and we do so with this week’s BTTS tips:

Bolton Wanderers vs Preston North End – No (8/11)
We’ve a rare foray into ‘BTTS: No’ territory first up, with a game that unfortunately for those in attendance could well be a dreary affair.
If you combine Bolton’s home record with Preston’s on the road, in those 30 games the pair have scored just 25 times between them.
The Trotters, despite their woes, are relatively sound defensively on home soil, conceding 19 in 15 in a record that actually betters those of the likes of Norwich, West Brom and Aston Villa.
Preston come into this one off the back of a 0-0 draw at Derby too, and quite simply those odds of 8/11 are too long for an afternoon of monotony to play out in this fierce Lancashire derby.
Reading vs Sheffield Wednesday – No (10/11)
It could be a low-scoring week in the Championship, with another dull affair expected here.
Reading have appointed Jose Manuel Gomes as their new boss, and the Spaniard appears to favour a defence-first approach to the game if clean sheets against Nottingham Forest and free-scoring Aston Villa in their last pair of home games is anything to go by.
The Royals, alas, don’t offer much of a threat going forward, and in nine of their last ten games they have either scored once (four times) or failed to register at all (five).
Sheffield Wednesday’s game with Ipswich looked set to fizzle out into a 0-0 draw until Lucas Joao found a 90th minute winner; their fourth 1-0 win in six outings!
BTTS (No) has landed in five of their last seven, with the two anomalies both ending 1-1, so goals are hard to come by when the Owls are in town.
Freiburg vs Wolfsburg – Yes (7/10)
Freiburg have been a regular contributor to this column in 2018/19, and that trend continued last week when they came up with a 2-2 draw with Frankfurt.
That was their fourth BTTS verdict in five starts, and franked a run of results which reads 1-3, 2-2 and 2-4.
Wolfsburg have won more points away from home this season than on their own patch, and that explains their confidence on the road.
The visitors have only failed to score once since early November, but they ship two against Schalke and three against Leverkusen recently not the bargain.
Dusseldorf vs Stuttgart – Yes (4/6)
Barring a 0-4 defeat against Champions League chasing RB Leipzig, Dusseldorf have been in decent enough form of late.
They put two each past Dortmund, Freiburg and Augsburg in victories, and earned a creditable 1-1 draw at Hoffenheim.
They will, however, be shorn of the talents of first choice defenders Jean Zimmer and Marcin Kaminski unless they recover from injury.
Stuttgart concede at a rate of 2.40 goals per game on average on the road, but in their last four games have netted against Bayern Munich and Schalke and put two past both of Freiburg and Mainz.
Clearly, there’s the potential for goals here.
Sampdoria vs Frosinone – No (3/4)
Sampdoria have kept clean sheets in four of their last five home matches, and only Inter Milan and Napoli have conceded fewer home goals in Serie A.
That forms the crux of this selection against a shot-shy Frosinone outfit.
Just seven players have scored for the visitors this season, with four of those boasting just a single goal to their name. It seems that when Camillo Ciano, top scorer with six, doesn’t find the net then the rest of the side struggles to assist him in the goalscoring department.
