Often with football accumulator betting, it’s the hope that gets you.
When the first four legs of your coupon land, the old endorphins begin to rush and confidence levels reach fever pitch.
That was the case last week for our acca tips, with four of our five selections landing with ease.
Unfortunately, Real Sociedad hadn’t read the script, drawing 0-0 at home with Huesca; a Huesca side that, up until that point, had failed to keep a clean sheet all season!
Sometimes in life if you don’t laugh, you cry, so we’ll brush ourselves down and march on with this week’s football accumulator betting tips.

Burnley vs Southampton: Burnley/Draw Double Chance
Nobody could really make the argument that Burnley deserved something from their midweek trip to Old Trafford, but 2-0 up with three minutes to play the Clarets arguably ought to have won the game.
But it’s still all positive for a side that is now unbeaten in five (W3 D2 L0), and who have finally found the formula for scoring goals: that’s two each in four of their last five now.
Sean Dyche’s man have an extra 24 hours of recovery time over Southampton, and you wonder how important that could prove to be.
The Saints tackle Crystal Palace on Wednesday evening, and while their performances have improved under Ralph Hassenhuttl, they still haven’t found the recipe for success on the road (W3 D2 L7).
Crystal Palace vs Fulham: Fulham +1.50 Asian Handicap
It’s the kind of result that can transform a season.
Fulham looked dead and buried at home against Brighton on Tuesday, 0-2 down at half-time and going nowhere.
But whatever Claudio Ranieri said at half time must have worked, because his side roared after the break to claim a 4-2 victory.
There have been signs of life in the Cottagers. They lost 1-2 at Burnley in one of the unlikeliest losses of the campaign – the Clarets didn’t muster a single shot on target but still scored twice! – and really they deserved something against Tottenham; going down to Harry Winks’ late winner.
Crystal Palace have 24 hours less to recover for Saturday’s game, and to down our bet they will need to score at least twice; something they’ve achieved in just 7/23 matches this term.
Ipswich Town vs Sheffield Wednesday: Wednesday/Draw Double Chance
Sorry Ipswich fans: there’s nothing much positive we can write about your club right now.
The Tractor Boys have won just 2/14 at Portman Road this term, and nine defeats in their last twelve games is a sign of how badly the East Anglians are struggling.
Sheffield Wednesday have been led amiably by caretaker boss Steve Agnew, and fears of relegation have all but been swept aside following a run of W3 D2 L1.
Steve Bruce takes the reins after his stint in the Caribbean, but he won’t have had enough time to ruin Agnew’s good work prior to the weekend!
Northampton Town vs Colchester United: Northampton/Draw Double Chance
Sometimes it’s the deepest of analysis that finds value bets, and other times it’s a simple scan of the league table.
The home/away splits are often a useful starting point, and in the case of this Northampton vs Colchester contest they are wholly instructive.
The Cobblers have lost just two games on home soil all season (W4 D9 L2), whereas Colchester have won a lowly 5/15 on the road.
As for their reason form, Northampton have gone W1 D3 L2 but Colchester are even worse: W1 D2 L3.
Roma vs AC Milan: Roma Draw No Bet
It’s really easy to get behind Roma at the moment. They’ve scored two or more goals, incredibly, in eight of their last ten outings, which has led to a formline of W5 D3 L2.
They are particularly strong on home soil too, where they’ve lost just 1/10 and average a knee-trembling 2.70 goals scored per game.
AC Milan’s formline is decent enough too (W2 D3 L1), but they aren’t that reliable away from home (W3 D5 L2) and – more worryingly for their supporters – they have failed to score in five of their last seven games!
