It was a so-so effort this column last time out, with three of our five acca tips landing with consummate ease.
Unfortunately, Rotherham were soundly beaten at home by Brentford – their first away win of the season(!), while Bradford’s Jekyll & Hyde campaign continued when they were thrashed at home by Southend.

Coventry City vs Blackpool: Under 2.5 Goals
These two teams sit inside League One’s top ten, but both also hold the unwanted tag of being the lowest scorers in that section of the table.
Only five teams in the division have mustered fewer goals than Coventry (31) – one of those being Blackpool, whose tally of 27 is only ‘bettered’ by Bristol Rovers and Wimbledon as far as mediocrity is concerned.
The Midlanders’ 14 home matches this term have mustered a rather meagre haul of just 26 goals in total, while Blackpool have been even less entertaining on the road: just 22 goals have been netted in their 13 away days.
Under 2.5 Goals has landed in six of the Tangerines’ last seven, with their last four results reading like Morse Code: 0-0, 1-0, 0-1, 0-0.
Peterborough United vs Charlton Athletic: Peterborough/Draw Double Chance
These are exciting times for Peterborough fans, with a front three of Lee Tomlin, Ivan Toney and Matt Godden the equal of anything in the division.
Okay, so they were stuffed last time out at Luton, but the Posh have been improving with wins over Rochdale (2-1) and Accrington (4-0) of late.
Charlton are in something of a pickle: frontman Lyle Taylor got himself sent off last time out.
They are appealing the red card, so perhaps he will still be able to play here, but if not the Addicks lose a 12-goal striker who has also made seven assists; largely for strike partner Karlan Grant.
Charlton, who have won 6/14 on the road this term, are a shadow of the side without him.
Sampdoria vs Udinese: Sampdoria Draw No Bet
For fans of the outright match market, Sampdoria are an excellent price at 17/20 to win this one.
We’ve gone with the Draw No Bet kicker for insurance, but really we fancy the hosts to win this one well.
They have scored two or more goals in six of their last seven games, and their only defeat since November has come against perennial excellent Juventus. Sampdoria’s home record – W5 D2 L2 – tells the story.
Udinese, meanwhile, are a very ordinary side with just two wins since September. They don’t concede too many as a rule, but defeats against Juventus (0-2), Napoli (0-3) and Atalanta (1-3) show they are routinely outclassed against Serie A’s stronger sides.
Real Sociedad vs Huesca: Real Sociedad to Win
It’s very rare for us to dip our toes straight into the win only market, but we fancy that Real Sociedad are decent enough value here.
They have rediscovered their attacking spark of late, putting two past Real and Madrid and Rayo Vallecano and three by Espanyol. That joie de vivre should suit them well against struggling Huesca.
The visitors are rock bottom of the La Liga table, and their away record – W1 D1 L8 – is indicative of a side who you might cruelly argue are out of their depth at this level.
Huesca have been thoroughly outplayed in their last two games, according to the shot data, and arguably lucky to escape with just 0-1 and 0-3 defeats.
Marseille vs Lille: Lille/Draw Double Chance
This is one of those matches where you suspect the bookmakers have just about got the prices wrong.
Marseille are a warm favourite despite the fact they have won just one of their last six outings; a spell in which five of their opponents have been bottom-half sides.
To make matters worse, Dimitri Payet – who has contributed to more than 25% of their goals either in assists or putting the ball in the net himself, is injured, as is key defender Adil Rami. Regular starter Hiroki Sakai is also off at the Asian Cup.
Lille are no mugs, and while their away record is inconsistent their current formline – W4 D2 L1 – is anything but.
