Luton Town vs Burton Albion: Luton to Win

We don’t normally go for straight win selections in this column, but sometimes the bookies get their prices wrong – as is the case here.

So we can back a Luton Town outfit that has won five matches in a row by margins of 4-2-4-2-1 goals against Burton, whose away form reads W2 D2 L6, at 13/20? Yes please.

The Hatters are unbeaten at home in League One (W9 D2 L0) this term, and average an incredible 2.64 goals per game at Kenilworth Road.

Burton, meanwhile, have shipped three goals on trips to such illustrious surroundings as Gillingham, Oxford and Blackpool, and they will surely find this away day to be equally as difficult.

Portsmouth vs Sunderland: Sunderland +1.00 Asian Handicap

Often, it is price which dictates a value bet rather than sentiment or opinion.

We just don’t see how Portsmouth, a side that has won a fairly low 55% of their League One matches at Fratton Park this term, can be considered an odds-on shot to beat Sunderland.

The Black Cats have lost just once on the road all term (W6 D3 L1), and are unbeaten anywhere since September while on league duty.

Are Portsmouth that good? They top the division so yes of course they are a classy outfit, but they come into this one without a win in two and you wonder if that will have knocked their confidence to the extent that they struggle against a buzzing Sunderland side.

Wycombe Wanderers vs AFC Wimbledon: Wycombe Draw No Bet

There is a body of evidence which suggests that Wycombe are a value play here.

Unbeaten in six (W4 D2 L0), the Chairboys are a full 17 points clear of Wimbledon in the tale and boast one of the best home records in the division (W6 D3 L2).

Wimbledon, meanwhile, are typically awful on the road, as a record of W2 D1 L8 and just four goals scores attests.

The Dons faithful will be hoping for rapid improvements under new boss Wally Downes, but with just one win in twelve he has a tough job on his hands restoring confidence.

Yeovil Town vs Northampton Town: Northampton/Draw Double Chance

It’s one win in thirteen now for Yeovil Town, and the pressure is mounting on club legend and manager Darren Way to turn the ship around.

They’ve scored four goals in their last eight outings, which offers a clue as to their woes, and that suggests we can take them on in this particular market.

Northampton are a better side than the bookies give them credit for, and while they have a mixed record on the road (W3 D3 L5) it should be noted that three of those defeats came against top six sides. Yeovil…well, they are a million miles from being one of those!

Sassuolo vs Torino: Sassuolo/Draw Double Chance

With Sassuolo priced at 8/5 and Torino at 13/8, the bookies don’t have a clue how this game is going to pan out.

And so we’re delighted to get a meaty price on the home side in a match where all three results are a possibility.

That gives us a 66% chance of success straight off the bat, and that’s before we consider the hosts’ decent enough form of W2 D5 L1.

Torino are doing okay themselves (W4 D4 L2), but they have failed to find the net in three of their last four starts, and that gives us confidence.
