Both Teams to Score Tips: 29th – 30th September 2018

Both Teams to Score tipsWe were agonisingly close, just one goal in fact, to landing our 8/1 BTTS acca last time out.

Even though 16 goals were scored in the five fixture we rode our luck a little with Dortmund and Sion both netting their away goals in the last ten minutes. This after we avoided the curse of the early kick-off on Saturday where Fulham and Watford played out a 1-1 draw.

That left us with our MLS midnight match up where Atlanta found the back of the net in each half however Real Salt Lake couldn’t find a way past ex Villa stopper Brad Guzan.

We’ve a full set of fixtures from around the globe to consider this week, and so we’re confident our BTTS tips will hit the spot once more.

Match Both Teams to Score Yes/No Odds
Hull City vs Middlesbrough No 4/5

Hull City vs Middlesbrough – No (4/5)

Tony Pulis has finally turned Middlesbrough into the sort of miserly, no risk football team that has become his trademark.

Both Teams to Score (No) has landed in each of their last eight league games, principally because they are so disciplined in defence (just three conceded in nine).

The natives are getting restless, however, as Pulis’ negative 4-5-1 formation has led to the Boro failing to score in three of their last four outings.

Hull are fairly dire in defence, admittedly, but the Expected Goals data confirms that the Tigers are a side that struggles to fashion high quality goalscoring chances on a consistent basis.

Preston vs West Brom – Yes (8/11)

This is a lovely price for a game which, statistically speaking, has goals written large all over it.

Preston, remarkably, have conceded two or more goals in each of their last seven games, and so a clean sheet against free-scoring West Brom appears to be out of the question.

The Baggies can field a front three of Dwight Gayle, Jay Rodriguez and Harry Barnes, which is as strong as anything in the Championship and explains why they have netted 22 times in just nine starts.

But the West Midlanders have only kept one clean sheet all season, while Preston have scored twice in each of their last three home matches.

Swindon Town vs Oldham Athletic – Yes (4/6)

Swindon’s nine league games in the 2018/19 campaign have witnessed a staggering 30 goals.

To sweeten the deal yet further, BTTS has landed in all four at the County Ground and to some tune: 3-2, 3-2, 1-1 and 1-2.

Oldham are a little less generous on the goal front, but then they have blitzed six in their last 180 minutes of league football, and all we ask of away sides in BTTS wagers is that they have some confidence in attack.

Atletico MG vs Sport Recife – No (4/7)

We are, in essence, laying a Sport Recife goal here. But why not given the evidence on display!

The visitors have scored just ten goals in 26 matches from open play, and they’ll be without the injured trio of Gabriel, Michel Bastos and Hernane who have contributed some 29% of their total output this term.

Atletico have only lost 2/13 on home soil this term, conceding 11, and they have shipped just 13 open play goals in 26 appearances home and away.

DC United vs Montreal Impact – Yes (1/2)

Wayne Rooney has made a massive impact at DC United. Scoring five and assisting six, the capital outfit have lost just 4/14 since Wazza joined the club in July.

The problem is, quite simply, that they cannot defend: they’ve shipped 53 goals in 29 starts from open play and conceded in a ridiculous 93% of MLS matches played this term.</p.

They are ideal BTTS fodder then, and Montreal should hopefully hold up their end of the bargain.

The Canadians’ 15 away matches have witnessed 47 goals, and it’s been ten games since they last failed to get on the scoresheet.
