It was a so-so effort from this column last week, with 3/5 selections landing for a small accumulative profit.
Most surprising of the two ‘failures’ was the 0-0 draw at Los Angeles FC, whose 18 games so far this term have yielded a whopping 69 goals. They have a pair of in-form strikers too in Adama Diomande and Latif Blessing, but sometimes this is just how the game goes.
We will look to do a little better in this week’s both teams to score betting tips.

Chicago Fire vs Toronto FC – Yes (2/5)
Chicago Fire have conceded ten goals in their last three games, and the absence of defenders Matt Polster and Kevin Ellis seems to be hitting them hard.
They have no problem putting the ball in the net, however, and that has led to eleven straight BTTS verdicts, with nine of those delivering three or more goals and four of the fixtures witnessing five or more.
This week they face a willing opponent in Toronto, who themselves are no mugs on the goals-front.
BTTS has landed in five of their last six outings and 11/15, with 12 of those 15 yielding three or more goals. The Canadians’ front three of Sebastian Giovinco, Jonathan Osorio and Victor Vazquez have delivered 15 goals between them this term.
Philadelphia Union vs LA Galaxy – Yes (1/2)
Philly have shipped 14 goals in their last six matches, ad you wonder how they will cope with LA Galaxy’s potential front four of messrs Ibrahimovic, Dos Santos, Kamara and Alessandrini.
The hosts don’t possess star quality like that in their ranks, but they do know where the goal is, sticking four past Chicago and Vancouver within their last four games.
And the Union average 1.70 goals scored per game in front of their own fans, so there’s no reason why they can’t give the money-bags at the Galaxy a tough assignment.
Chapecoense vs Bahia – No (3/4)
Brazil’s Serie A must be one of the lowest scoring divisions around, with BTTS landing in just 46% of matches. The three most common scorelines this season have been 0-0, 1-0 and 1-1, and that gives an indication of how football is played in this part of the world.
Two of the worst culprits are Chapecoense and Bahia, whose combined last 12 games have witnessed Both Teams to Score (No) on some 9 occasions.
Chapecoense have conceded just four goals at home this term and two of those came in a single game, while Bahia are yet to find the net in five away outings!
Ostersunds vs Trelleborgs – Yes (4/5)
This is a selection from the Swedish Allsvenskan that is based on price as much as anything else: should BTTS, knowing it has landed in a combined 10/12 for these two sides, really be as long as 4/5!
The hosts will presumably win this game having won four of their last five matches. They have flown up the table, and while they are unbeaten in six they have conceded at least once in five of those, which suggests there is a certain defensive frailty at play.
Trelleborgs are no great shakes, but they have scored in 10/13 this term and in each of their last six to boot; a run which includes a strike over table-topping AIK, who have the best defensive record in the Allsvenskan.
AIK vs Brommapojkarna – No (4/7)
For our final pick we stay in Sweden’s Allsvenskan for this contest on Sunday.
AIK are riding high at the top of the division and as mentioned above, have been solid at the back thus far this season. They’ve conceded only 4 goals at home, with three of those coming in just one game against Norrkoping who sit in third.
In contrast, Brommapojkarna have only found the back of the net 3 times in their 6 away fixtures so far, and haven’t scored at all in their previous 300 minutes of football played.
As a result, we can’t see the home side’s defence being breached in this one.
