Both Teams to Score Tips: 3rd February 2018

A late consolation goal from Nottingham Forest was all that prevented a clean sweep from our both teams to score betting tips: but a very tidy four out of five will still do nicely enough.

There’s no point deviating from a successful formula, so let’s get stuck straight back in with this week’s selections:

  • Brighton vs West Ham: Both Teams to Score – No
  • Fleetwood Town vs Scunthorpe United: Both Teams to Score – Yes
  • Augsburg vs Frankfurt: Both Teams to Score – Yes
  • Freiburg vs Bayer Leverkusen: Both Teams to Score – Yes
  • Eibar vs Sevilla: Both Teams to Score – Yes

Brighton vs West Ham – No (3/4)

Both teams to score has landed in just seven of Brighton’s 24 Premier League outings this term: the Seagulls serving up more ‘0s’ than an Alexis Sanchez paycheque.

They have failed to find the net in seven of their last nine, and despite home advantage here they may find this West Ham side tough to break down under David Moyes’ defensive stewardship.

The Hammers are without a cavalcade of attacking talent, with Andy Carroll, Manuel Lanzini, Marko Arnautovic and Andre Ayew all injured at present. Add into that mix another injured player in Pedro Obiang, and we note that the scorers of 10 of West Ham’s last 13 goals are all sidelined.

Fleetwood Town vs Scunthorpe United – Yes (10/11)

This one is a case of simple mathematics, with 10 of the last 12 combined matches featuring these two delivering the BTTS holy grail.

Indeed, 8/12 has actually yielded three or more goals, so it’s not as if these two are scraping 1-1 draws either.

Fleetwood have been beaten by a pair of in-form sides in Blackburn and Gillingham, but they still managed to find the net in each so that’s a good sign.

Scunthorpe have scored at least once in 16 of their last 17 League 1 outings, but one clean sheet in nine attempts is indicative of their woes.

Augsburg vs Frankfurt – Yes (19/20)

Augsburg’s bounteous BTTS run continues, with six of their last eight delivering the magic mark and a fine five of their last six on home soil coming up with the goods.

From a defensive perspective, their task here will not be aided by the absence of Jeffrey Gouweleeuw and midfield shield Rani Khedira.

Frankfurt arrive on the crest of a wave after going five unbeaten, and their vibrant frontline has now found the net at least once in 16 of their 20 starts. But one clean sheet since November identifies their greatest weakness.

Freiburg vs Bayer Leverkusen – Yes (4/7)

Each of Freiburg’s last four games have delivered BTTS, with scorelines of 3-3, 1-1, 2-1 and 2-2 getting the job done. All in, they have only failed to score in one of their last nine Bundesliga outings.

For this game they have defensive injuries, too. First choice goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow is out along with defenders Pascal Stenzel and Philipp Lienhart, which will be music to the ears of the visitors.

Bayer Leverkusen’s last three away games have ended 4-1, 1-1 and 4-4, and a comfy eight of their ten away dates this term have delivered the BTTS magic.

Eibar vs Sevilla – Yes (3/4)

Eibar will be hoping to maintain their fine first half of the La Liga campaign against a Sevilla side that is vulnerable on their travels.

The hosts have netted 15 goals in their last six matches on home soil, although a stat of five clean sheets in 21 games highlights their difficulties at the other end of the pitch.

Sevilla’s away form reads W4 D0 L7, and that is fairly typical of the outfit despite their regular flirtations with the top four in the division. The absence of defenders Simon Kjaer and Sebastian Corchia, plus an away match in the Copa Del Rey on Wednesday, will not aid their cause.
