A decent return of 3/5 last week, and of the two that failed to land it was Watford who couldn’t find the net at Leicester and Leeds vs Millwall, which we had down as a BTTS No selection, was always doomed to fail when Leeds’ central defender Liam Cooper was sent off in the first half.
And so we head into this week’s both teams to score betting tips in high spirits:

Hull City vs Nottingham Forest – No (7/10)
This is one of those sticky FA Cup ties that you wonder how much either side wants to win.
Both are in the doldrums in the Championship, and with new managers at both – Nigel Adkins moving to Hull a few weeks ago and Aitor Karanka slightly newer at Forest – the league will surely be the priority.
Both teams to score has failed to land in five of Hull’s last six in the league, and with both Abel Hernandez and Kamil Grosicki struggling for fitness Adkins is shorn of his most obvious goal threat.
During his spell at Middlesbrough, Karanka became known for his conservative approach, and we don’t expect anything different now he has joined a Tricky Trees outfit that has delivered BTTS: No verdicts in each of their last five.
Blackburn Rovers vs Northampton Town – Yes (19/20)
Blackburn are a strange old side. Their form in League 1 is excellent (W10 D6 L0), and yet within those 16 unbeaten they have only managed to keep a rather paltry five clean sheets.
The jury was out on Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink as Northampton boss, with Cobblers fans at a loss to explain how a deadly striker in his playing days could oversee such a toothless side in attack.
JFH must have listened to their concerns, because his side have now blasted seven goals in their last three games – winning the lot. That’s the kind of confidence they need up at Ewood Park against their porous hosts.
Doncaster Rovers vs Bristol Rovers – Yes (4/5)
Both teams to score has landed in each of Doncaster’s last four outings, which is a nod to their attacking intent and occasional defensive lapses.
Indeed, Donny have scored at least once in each of their last eight outings, and that hints at a decent second-half of the season to come.
Trying to predict Bristol Rovers’ fortunes is difficult. They hadn’t drawn a game this season until Boxing Day, and after a run of five defeats in seven they are now unbeaten in five themselves.
They have already defeated Portsmouth and Bradford in 2018, and as we’ve mentioned before that’s the kind of confidence we want to see emanating from the away team in these BTTS wagers.
Crawley Town vs Accrington Stanley – Yes (5/6)
Two in-form sides meet here, and for all Crawley’s improvement of late none of their victories will have proven quite as satisfying as Tuesday’s 2-1 triumph against Notts County.
They put in a tremendous shift to beat the high-flyers, and with four wins in their last five they are clearly on the crest of a wave at the moment.
But they will need to maintain that against an excellent Accrington outfit. Stanley are up to third after winning four on the bounce, and most impressive is the fact they have bludgeoned a dozen goals in that spell.
It would be surprising if this one peters out into a 0-0 stalemate.
Dijon vs Rennes – Yes (3/4)
Dijon have conceded a frankly absurd 18 goals in their last six matches, and their calamitous defending won’t be aided in Friday night’s game by the absence of defenders Papy Djilobodji and Cedric Varrault.
But the hosts are no slouches in front of goal, netting 31 times in a tally that is only bettered by the top four sides in Ligue 1.
Rennes are not exactly party-starters when it comes to goals, but the fact that their eleven away matches this term have witnessed 32 instances of the ball hitting the back of the net at least fills us with confidence.
